BLACK RAVEN AND CROW

 

Black hearted raven and cousin crow.

Both portents of death says Poe.

But is death quick or slow?

Pushed into that abyss, black hole,

Into the bowels of the earth so low,

Plunging to death you go,

Unaware of your silent foe.

Slaughtered like a bleating doe.

Then on the River Styx you row

Seeing images of your death and know

Your skeleton looks just so

As white as virgin snow

As you die so very slow,
